How to use
- Enter one name per line.
- Choose to split by number of teams or by people per team, and enter the number.
- Click Generate. Click Again for a new draw.
- Copy the teams as text to share them.
Options explained
- Number of teams
- Creates exactly that many teams. If the names do not divide evenly, some teams get one extra person.
- People per team
- Creates as many teams as needed so no team is larger than the chosen size, keeping sizes as even as possible.
Examples
Football. 12 players, 2 teams → 6 and 6.
Workshop groups. 23 participants, 4 per team → 6 groups of 3 or 4.
Frequently asked questions
How are the teams chosen?
The list is shuffled with a fair Fisher–Yates shuffle using secure random numbers, then dealt out one by one like cards, so team sizes differ by at most one.
Can I keep certain people together?
Not automatically. Put them on one line, for example "Ana & Ben", and they will be treated as one entry.
Are the names saved?
No. They stay in this page only.
