Options explained
- Formats
- Built on the open-source libarchive — ZIP, 7z, RAR4/RAR5, tar with gzip, bzip2 or xz, plus ISO, CAB and others.
- Create ZIP
- Standard ZIP that opens on Windows, macOS and phones. Photos and videos are already compressed, so None is fastest for them.
Download all, long lists and Create ZIP levels
Download all as ZIP repacks every file with folder paths kept and no extra compression, because most archive contents are already compressed. The new file is named after the archive, so photos.7z becomes photos.zip. Only the first 1,000 entries of a large archive are listed; use Filter to find the rest.
In Create ZIP, Compression sets the Deflate level and ZIP name sets the file name (archive.zip if left empty):
| Compression | Deflate level | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| None (fastest) | 0 (stored) | Files are stored as they are, which suits photos and videos |
| Normal | 6 | The usual balance of speed and size |
| Maximum | 9 | Smallest file, slowest to create |
Frequently asked questions
Are my files uploaded?
No. The extractor (about 1 MB) runs in your browser and the archive is only read on your device.
File names look garbled.
ZIP files made on some non-English Windows systems store names in a local encoding and may show garbled names. The contents are fine; rename after downloading.
Can it open very large archives?
The archive is read into memory, so a few hundred MB is usually fine; multi-GB archives may run out of memory on phones.
