Options explained

Leap month
About every three years the lunar calendar adds a thirteenth month that repeats the number of the month before it, for example Leap month 6 in 2025. It appears in the month list only for years that have one.
Stem-branch (Ganzhi)
The traditional sixty-name cycle for years, months and days, such as Bing-Wu for 2026. The year name changes at the lunar New Year here; month names change at the solar terms.
Solar terms
24 points of the sun's path, such as Start of Spring or Winter Solstice. They follow the Gregorian calendar and fall on nearly the same dates each year.

Spring Festival dates, 2025 to 2030

Spring Festival is the first day of lunar month 1. These Gregorian dates come from the same Lunar → Gregorian conversion the page uses:

Year Gregorian date Stem-branch Zodiac animal
2025 29 January Yi-Si Snake
2026 17 February Bing-Wu Horse
2027 6 February Ding-Wei Goat
2028 26 January Wu-Shen Monkey
2029 13 February Ji-You Rooster
2030 3 February Geng-Xu Dog

Of these years only 2028 has a leap month (a second month 5), and Mid-Autumn Festival, on the 15th of month 8, falls on 25 September in 2026. Solar term times are given in Beijing time (UTC+8), so for example Start of Spring 2026 is on 4 February at 04:02 there.

Frequently asked questions

When is Chinese New Year?

On the first day of the first lunar month, between 21 January and 20 February. Switch to Lunar → Gregorian and choose Month 1, day 1 of any year.

How do I find my lunar birthday this year?

Convert your birth date to lunar first, then switch to Lunar → Gregorian and enter this year with the same lunar month and day. If your lunar birthday was the 30th and this year's month has only 29 days, people usually celebrate on the 29th.

Which years are supported?

1901 to 2099. The dates are calculated astronomically, so they match the official calendar published in China.

Why is the zodiac animal different from the one I expected?

The zodiac year starts at the lunar New Year, not on 1 January. Someone born in January 2026 before Chinese New Year belongs to the Year of the Snake, not the Horse.
