Pomodoro Timer

Work in Pomodoro rounds — focus for 25 minutes, take a 5-minute break, and take a longer break after every four rounds. The timer rings at the end of each phase and moves on to the next one, counts the Pomodoros you finish, lets you change every length, and shows the time left in the tab title.

How to use

  3. Adjust the focus and break lengths and how often long breaks come below.

Options explained

Default rhythm
25 minutes of focus, 5-minute short breaks and a 15-minute long break after every four Pomodoros — the classic setup.
Auto-start
When on, the next phase starts as soon as one ends; when off, click Start yourself.
Background timing
Time is measured from the clock, so it stays accurate when the tab is in the background. Keep the page open.

One full cycle with the default lengths

Four Pomodoros and the long break that follows take 130 minutes.

Step Phase Minutes Running total
1 Focus 25 25
2 Short break 5 30
3 Focus 25 55
4 Short break 5 60
5 Focus 25 85
6 Short break 5 90
7 Focus 25 115
8 Long break 15 130

A Pomodoro is counted in “Pomodoros done” only when a Focus period runs to the end. If you click Skip during Focus, the timer moves on to the break without adding one. The row of dots under the counter fills as you approach the next long break.

You can set Focus to 1–180 minutes, Short break to 1–60 minutes, Long break to 1–120 minutes and Long break after (rounds) to 2–10. The Focus, Short break and Long break buttons above the clock jump straight to that phase and reset the clock.

Frequently asked questions

Does it keep running if I close the page?

No. The timer runs in the page, so keep the tab open.

Why didn’t it ring?

Browsers only allow sound after you interact with the page, so the ring works once you have clicked Start. Also check your volume.

What is the Pomodoro Technique?

A time-management method created by Francesco Cirillo that splits work into 25-minute focus intervals separated by short breaks to keep attention high and reduce procrastination.
