Dates of the floating holidays
Holidays defined as a weekday in a month move each year. These are the dates the rules give:
| Holiday | Rule | 2026 | 2027 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mother’s Day | 2nd Sunday of May | May 10 | May 9 |
| Father’s Day | 3rd Sunday of June | June 21 | June 20 |
| Thanksgiving | 4th Thursday of November | November 26 | November 25 |
Fixed dates such as Christmas (December 25) or Halloween (October 31) are the same every year. On the day itself the count is 0. Chinese New Year and other lunar festivals are converted from the lunar calendar, and Chinese New Year’s Eve is the day before Chinese New Year.
