Options explained
- Presets
- One-click lengths from 1 minute to 1 hour; 25 minutes is the classic Pomodoro work session.
- Alarm
- A repeating beep that plays until you stop it. Keep the tab open; closing it stops the timer.
- Accuracy
- The countdown is based on the clock rather than on counting ticks, so it stays accurate when the tab is in the background or the computer is busy.
Presets and how the display reads
The preset buttons are 1, 3, 5, 10, 15, 25, 30 and 60 minutes. The countdown shows minutes and seconds as 05:00, and switches to hours, minutes and seconds once the time is an hour or more (1:30:00 for 90 minutes).
The display rounds up to the next whole second, so with 0.4 seconds left it still reads 00:01 and only shows 00:00 at the end. The same text appears in the tab title while the timer runs, for example 04:59 · Timer, which lets you read the remaining time from another tab.
Frequently asked questions
Will the timer keep running if I switch tabs?
Yes. The remaining time is also shown in the tab title so you can check it at a glance.
Why didn't I hear the alarm?
Make sure the sound option is on and your device is not muted. Some phones pause web pages when the screen locks.
Can I use it as a Pomodoro timer?
Yes. Choose 25 minutes to work, then 5 minutes for a short break.
