Merge Videos

Recorded a talk, a match or a trip in several clips? Add them, put them in order and download one video. The clips are joined by copying their data, not re-encoding it, so even long videos merge in seconds and the quality doesn’t change. This works when all clips have the same format — typically clips from the same phone or camera with the same settings.

Runs in your browser — nothing you enter is uploaded

or drop an MP4, MOV, MKV or WebM file here

Videos are joined end to end in the order shown by copying their data, without re-encoding — fast and lossless. The result uses the first video’s format: MP4 for MP4 and MOV, WebM for WebM.

Videos are processed in your browser and never uploaded.

How to use

  1. Choose two or more videos (you can select several at once).
  2. Put them in order with the arrows. Clips whose format differs from the first are marked in red.
  3. Click Merge and download.

Options explained

No re-encoding
The compressed video and audio are copied as they are and only the timestamps are shifted, so nothing is lost and it takes seconds even for long files.
Output format
Same as the first clip — MP4 for MP4 and MOV clips, WebM for WebM, MKV for MKV.

What has to match

Each clip is compared with the first one on five properties. A clip that differs on any of them is marked as a different format:

Property Example of a mismatch
Video codec H.264 in one clip, H.265 (HEVC) in another
Resolution 1920×1080 in one clip, 1280×720 in another
Audio codec AAC in one clip, Opus in another
Audio sample rate 48000 Hz in one clip, 44100 Hz in another
Audio channels Stereo in one clip, mono in another

Resolution counts as width and height, so a portrait clip (1080×1920) does not match a landscape clip (1920×1080) even if both come from the same phone. Clips recorded one after another with the same camera app and settings normally match. If one clip is marked, check which of these differs and either remove it or re-record or convert it with the same settings.

Frequently asked questions

Why can’t some videos be merged?

Joining without re-encoding needs every clip to use the same codec, resolution, encoder settings and audio format. Clips from different phones, apps or settings usually differ. Re-encoding would make them compatible but takes a lot of time and processing power in a browser, so this tool doesn’t do it.

Can I add transitions, music or titles?

No. This tool only joins clips end to end. Use a video editor for transitions and effects.

Is there a size limit?

There is no fixed limit, but the merged video is built in your device’s memory. A few gigabytes in total is usually fine on a computer; phones have less memory.

Are my videos uploaded?

No. Everything happens in your browser.
