Options explained
- Quality
- Frames are decoded at the video's original resolution. PNG is lossless; JPG is smaller.
- Batch export
- One image every set number of seconds from the start, up to 500 per export.
How many images a batch export makes
The export takes one image at 0 s, then every interval after that until the end of the video, up to 500 images. The count is the video length divided by the interval, rounded up:
| Video length | Every 1 s | Every 5 s | Every 0.04 s |
|---|---|---|---|
| 30 seconds | 30 | 6 | 500 (capped; 750 would be needed) |
| 60 seconds | 60 | 12 | 500 (capped) |
| 10 minutes | 500 (capped) | 120 | 500 (capped) |
The smallest interval is 0.04 s. JPG frames are saved at quality 0.92, and PNG is lossless. The ZIP stores the images without further compression and names them in order with the time in the video, for example 0004_0.15.000.jpg for the frame at 15 seconds. A single saved frame is named after the video plus its time.
Frequently asked questions
Why can't some videos be read?
Your browser must be able to decode the codec. H.265 is not supported in every browser — try Chrome, Edge or Safari.
Is my video uploaded?
No. Decoding and saving happen in your browser.
Can I export every frame?
Set the interval to 0.04 s for a 25 fps video, but each export is limited to 500 images, so long videos need several passes.
