Online Voice Changer

Make your voice sound like a chipmunk, a robot or a deep-voiced narrator. Record straight from your microphone or open an audio file, pick an effect, compare it with the original and download the result as a WAV file. Nothing is uploaded — it all runs in your browser.

Runs in your browser — nothing you enter is uploaded

or open an audio file:

or drop a file here

Everything happens in your browser: the recording or file is not uploaded. Chipmunk and Deep voice change the pitch without changing the speed. Output is a WAV file.

How to use

  1. Click Record and speak, then Stop recording — or open an audio file.
  2. Pick an effect such as Chipmunk, Robot or Echo.
  3. Click Play with effect to hear it, and Original to compare.
  4. Click Download WAV to save the result.

Options explained

Chipmunk and Deep voice
Raise the pitch by 7 semitones or lower it by 6 without changing the speed, so the words stay in time.
Robot and Alien
Ring modulation adds the metallic, buzzing sound of a robot; Alien combines it with a higher pitch.
Telephone, Old radio and Underwater
Filters that keep only part of the frequency range, plus light distortion for radio and a short echo underwater.

What each effect does

Effect How it is made Sounds like
Chipmunk Pitch raised 7 semitones, speed unchanged A cartoon squirrel or helium voice
Deep voice Pitch lowered 6 semitones, speed unchanged A movie-trailer narrator
Robot Ring modulation at 40 Hz A buzzy sci-fi robot
Alien Pitch up 4 semitones, mixed with 90 Hz ring modulation A wobbly, metallic voice
Echo 250 ms delay with 45% feedback Calling across a canyon
Telephone Band-pass 300–3,400 Hz, the classic phone-line range A voice on an old landline
Old radio Band-pass 500–3,000 Hz with soft distortion A small transistor-radio speaker
Underwater Low-pass at 500 Hz with a short 80 ms echo Talking under water

Every result is normalised to a peak of −1 dBFS so it is loud but does not clip.

Tips

Record close and quiet. Speak 10–20 cm from the microphone in a quiet room. Background noise is shifted along with your voice, and the robot and alien effects make hiss more noticeable.

Pitch changes keep the length. Chipmunk and Deep voice change the pitch without speeding the clip up or slowing it down, so a 10-second recording stays 10 seconds.

Use the WAV elsewhere. The downloaded WAV opens in any audio or video editor, and messaging apps accept it as an audio file.

Frequently asked questions

Is my recording uploaded?

No. Recording, processing and the WAV file are all handled in your browser.

How long can the audio be?

Up to 3 minutes; longer files are cut to the first 3 minutes so processing stays quick.

Can I use it live on a call?

No. It changes a recording or a file, not your live microphone.
