How to use

- Pick a line colour and the number of pages, then click Download PDF.
- Print at “Actual size” or 100%.
Options explained
- Spacing (mm)
- Square size for graph paper, distance between dots, or line height for lined paper. ¼ inch is 6.35 mm and 5 mm is the common metric square.
- Bold line every
- Draws every 2nd, 4th, 5th or 10th line thicker — 10 with 1 mm spacing gives classic millimetre paper.
- Isometric dots
- Dots on an equilateral triangle grid, for 3D sketches and isometric drawings.
Squares per page
With the default 10 mm margin, the grid fills the page with whole squares and is centred:
| Square size | US Letter | A4 |
|---|---|---|
| 4 mm | 48 × 64 | 47 × 69 |
| 5 mm | 39 × 51 | 38 × 55 |
| ¼ inch (6.35 mm) | 30 × 40 | 29 × 43 |
| 10 mm (1 cm) | 19 × 25 | 19 × 27 |
| ½ inch (12.7 mm) | 15 × 20 | 14 × 21 |
Which paper for what
| Paper type | Good for |
|---|---|
| Graph paper | Maths homework, charts, floor plans, cross-stitch and knitting patterns |
| Dot grid | Bullet journals, sketching layouts, handwriting practice without heavy lines |
| Lined paper | Notes and letters — 7.1 mm is college ruled, 8.7 mm wide ruled |
| Isometric dots | 3D sketches, technical drawings, cube and building views |
| Music staff paper | Writing melodies and exercises by hand |
A bold line every 5 or 10 squares makes it easier to count — useful for graphs and floor plans at a scale such as 1 square = 1 foot.
Frequently asked questions
Why are the squares not exactly 5 mm on my printout?
The printer probably scaled the page. Choose “Actual size” or 100% in the print dialog instead of “Fit to page”.
Can I make college-ruled or wide-ruled paper?
Use Lined paper with 7.1 mm spacing for college ruled (9/32 inch) or 8.7 mm for wide ruled (11/32 inch).
