How to use

  1. Type or paste Markdown in the editor, or open a .md file.
  2. Use the toolbar or shortcuts (Ctrl+B, Ctrl+I, Ctrl+K) to format a selection.
  3. Check the preview. Switch the layout to focus on writing or reading.
  4. Copy the Markdown, HTML or formatted text, or download a .md or .html file.

Options explained

GitHub Flavored Markdown
Tables, task lists (- [ ]), strikethrough (~~text~~) and automatic links work as they do on GitHub.
Single line breaks
In standard Markdown a single line break is ignored and you need an empty line for a new paragraph. Turn this on to make every line break visible, as in chat apps and many note tools.
Copy formatted text
Copies the rendered document, so pasting into an email, Word, Google Docs or a blog editor keeps headings, lists, links and tables.
Download .html
A complete web page with simple readable styles that opens in any browser.

Frequently asked questions

Is my text saved?

It is saved in this browser only (local storage) so it survives closing the tab. Nothing is sent to a server. Clearing the editor or your browser data removes it.

Is HTML inside Markdown allowed?

Yes. HTML in your Markdown is rendered, but scripts, event handlers and other unsafe code are removed from the preview and the exports.

How do I make a table?

Click Table in the toolbar, or write rows separated by | with a line of --- under the header. Add : to align columns, for example ---: aligns right.

Does it support math or diagrams?

Not yet. LaTeX formulas and Mermaid diagrams are shown as plain text.
