Options explained
- English sheets
- Four-line paper with the baseline in colour; the font size makes a lowercase x fill exactly the middle band. Print or rounded letter styles.
- Chinese sheets
- Tian, Mi or plain squares, one character per row in the Kaiti font that comes with Windows and macOS. No font files are downloaded.
How many rows fit on a page
The page is A4 (210 × 297 mm) with a 15 mm margin, which leaves 180 × 267 mm. With the name line switched on, 12 mm at the top is reserved, so 255 mm remain for the rows.
For English sheets, the line spacing sets the height of one band, and a row is 4.5 times as high as the spacing. Each sentence takes one black row, the number of tracing rows you choose, and one empty row.
| Line spacing | Rows per page |
|---|---|
| 3 mm | 18 |
| 4 mm | 14 |
| 5 mm | 11 |
| 6 mm | 9 |
For Chinese sheets, squares are laid out edge to edge with 2 mm between rows. Each character gets the number of rows you choose.
| Square size | Squares per row | Rows per page |
|---|---|---|
| 12 mm | 15 | 18 |
| 15 mm | 12 | 15 |
| 18 mm | 10 | 12 |
| 20 mm | 9 | 11 |
| 25 mm | 7 | 9 |
