How to use
- Enter one title per line.
- Choose the separator and whether to lowercase, drop short words or limit the length.
- Copy the slugs.
Options explained
- Separator
- Hyphens are recommended for URLs; search engines treat them as word separators. Underscores are common in file names and identifiers.
- Remove short words
- Drops a, an, the, and, of, in, to and similar English words, for example "The Art of War" → art-war.
- Max length
- Cuts the slug at a separator so words are never broken in half.
- Convert Chinese to pinyin
- Writes Chinese characters as toneless pinyin, so 你好世界 becomes ni-hao-shi-jie.

Frequently asked questions
How are accented letters handled?
Accents are removed (é → e, ü → u), and letters that have no accent-free form are transliterated (ß → ss, æ → ae, ø → o).
Should slugs be lower case?
Usually yes. URLs can be case-sensitive, so lower case avoids duplicate addresses that differ only in capitalisation.
Why is the apostrophe removed instead of becoming a hyphen?
So contractions stay one word — don't becomes dont rather than don-t.
