Frequently asked questions
Does cropping reduce quality?
The pixels you keep are not scaled, but the image is re-encoded when you download it. Choose PNG for a lossless copy, or keep quality at 90 or above for JPG and WebP.
Is photo metadata kept?
No. The new file contains no EXIF data, so camera details and GPS location are removed. The photo is turned the right way up before cropping, so it still displays correctly.
Can I crop to exact pixel dimensions?
Yes. Type the width and height, then drag the box into place. With a ratio locked, changing one side updates the other.
Are my images uploaded?
No. Cropping runs in your browser.
