How to use
- Choose a GIF file.
- Browse the frames — each shows its number and how long it is displayed.
- Click a frame to download it as PNG, or download all frames as a ZIP.
Options explained
- Frame delay
- How long each frame is shown, in milliseconds. Browsers play frames shorter than 20 ms at 100 ms.
- Full frames
- Many GIFs only store the part of each frame that changes. Each PNG is the complete picture as it appears at that moment.
What you get
The frames are numbered in order with three digits, and each one is a PNG with the same width and height as the GIF. A file called loading.gif gives loading-001.png, loading-002.png and so on, and the ZIP is called loading-frames.zip. The ZIP does not recompress the PNGs, since they are already compressed.
The information line above the frames shows the size in pixels, the number of frames, the total length in seconds and how the GIF loops: forever, once, or a fixed number of times. The total length is the sum of all the frame delays. Delays are stored in hundredths of a second, so they are always multiples of 10 ms. A GIF with 12 frames at 80 ms each plays for 0.96 seconds.
Frequently asked questions
Why are the PNG files larger than the GIF?
A GIF stores only what changes between frames and uses at most 256 colours. Each PNG is a complete, independent image, so together they take more space.
Can I turn the frames back into a GIF?
Yes — edit the frames you want and use GIF Maker to combine images into an animated GIF.
Is there a limit?
Very large GIFs are limited by your device’s memory. If a GIF is too big, only the first part is loaded and a message tells you how many frames were read.
Are my files uploaded?
No. The GIF is decoded in your browser.
