Frequently asked questions
How is the palette calculated?
With the median cut algorithm — the image's colours are split repeatedly into groups of similar colours, and each group's average becomes one palette colour. Transparent pixels are ignored.
Why does the picked colour differ slightly from my design file?
Colours are read after the browser converts the image to sRGB. Images saved in a wider colour space such as Display P3 are converted, and JPEG compression changes individual pixels slightly. Pick from a flat area rather than an edge for the most accurate value.
Are my images uploaded?
No. The image is read in your browser.
