Frequently asked questions

Why does my photo appear rotated differently in some apps?

Phones often save photos unrotated with an orientation tag that tells apps how to display them, and not every app reads that tag. This tool applies the tag first, then your rotation, and saves pixels that are the right way up everywhere.

Does rotating reduce quality?

Quarter turns and flips move pixels without resampling, but the image is re-encoded on download. Choose PNG for a lossless result, or a high quality setting for JPG and WebP.

Are my images uploaded?

No. Everything runs in your browser.
