Online Document Scanner

No scanner at hand? Take a photo of a contract, homework, receipt or form, drag the four corners onto the edges of the paper, and the page is straightened into a clean rectangle. Choose Enhance to whiten the paper and darken the text, or Black & white to remove shadows for a photocopy look. Process several pages and combine them into one PDF — all in your browser.

Photos are processed in your browser and never uploaded. Black & white suits text documents; Enhance keeps stamps, signatures and color.

How to use

  1. Choose or take photos of your pages; you can pick several at once.
  2. Drag the four corners onto the corners of the paper and check the straightened result.
  3. Pick Enhance or Black & white, rotate if needed, then download the page or save all pages as a PDF.

Options explained

Enhance
Stretches brightness so the paper turns white and text dark while keeping color — good for stamps, signatures and colored forms.
Black & white
Separates text from paper by local brightness, removing uneven lighting and shadows. Best for text documents; saved as PNG.
PDF
One photo per page, fitted to A4, with landscape pages placed on landscape paper.

What happens to a photo

  1. Straightening. The four corners define a perspective transform that maps your photo onto a flat rectangle. The output is as wide as the longer of the top and bottom edges and as tall as the longer of the left and right edges, reduced if needed to stay within 16 million pixels.
  2. Enhance. The 1st and 99th percentile of brightness are stretched to black and white, so the paper turns white and everything between is scaled in proportion.
  3. Black & white. A pixel becomes black when it is more than 8% darker than the average of the area around it, and white otherwise. Because the comparison is local, a shadow across the page does not turn the paper black.

Photos above 24 million pixels are scaled down first. Black and white pages are saved as PNG, other pages as JPEG at 90% quality.

In the PDF each page is placed at its natural size at 96 dpi, centred on A4 and scaled down only if it does not fit, with no margin.

Frequently asked questions

Any tips for taking the photo?

Use even lighting, place the paper on a dark surface, keep all four corners in frame and hold the phone roughly parallel to the page. A slight angle is fine — the corners fix it.

Are my photos uploaded?

No. Straightening, enhancing and PDF creation all happen in your browser, so it is safe for contracts and IDs.

Does it recognize the text?

No, it produces scanned images only; it does not do text recognition.
